MOM Concession & Appeal Process for Sunsetting WP(PA) Scheme

As previously announced by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in December 2025, the Work Permit (Performing Artiste) [WP(PA)] scheme will officially cease on 1 June 2026. Following extensive feedback and ongoing dialogues raised regarding the operational challenges of this sunsetting scheme, MOM has officially provided an update on transitional flexibilities.

While the cessation timeline remains unchanged, MOM will now allow individual venues to appeal for an extension of existing passes’ validity until end Nov 2026 to ensure the full utilisation of the 1-year transition window.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR VENUE

🔴 DEADLINE

The WP(PA) scheme officially ceases on 1 June 2026. No new passes will be issued after this date.

🟢 CONCESSION

You can now appeal via the link here to extend existing passes until end-Nov 2026, if they expire on or after 1 June 2026.

URGENT ACTION REQUIRED

Don’t let your entertainment lineups get unexpectedly disrupted. Instruct your HR or management team to take these two steps immediately:

  • STEP 1: Check Your Roster Identify any performing artistes whose current WP(PA) passes expire on or after 1 June 2026.
  • STEP 2: Submit Your Appeal Early If you need these artistes to tide you over the transition period, file your appeal to MOM at least two (2) weeks before their pass expires.

⚠️ IMPORTANT TO NOTE
  • Case-by-Case Basis: MOM will evaluate appeals individually based on your venue’s unique operational circumstances.
  • No Blanket Extensions: Because a generous one-year transition window was already given, MOM will strictly not grant any extensions beyond November 2026.

SNBA will continue to work closely with MOM to guide stakeholders through these changes and ensure the long-term vibrancy of Singapore’s nighttime sector.
