SNBA has successfully negotiated a 50% discount on the first-year licence (2022) for our members on their Public Performance and Reproduction of Sound Recordings (PPSR) Licence from MRSS.
MRSS is a collective management organisation (CMO) privately established to collect royalties for commercial use of sound recordings and music videos on behalf of the copyright holders that MRSS represents. Our members should visit MRSS website https://www.mrss.com.sg/to understand more about MRSS and the copyright holders that it represents, to ascertain if licences are required for the sound recordings and/or music videos that you use.
SNBA respects copyright and encourages our members to take advantage of the discount and to discuss with MRSS regarding your associated fees. The license renewal subscription and its fees should be negotiated with MRSS individually.
Please note that SNBA is not able to advise our members on whether each member specifically requires licences from MRSS. That is to be determined by each member with reference to the way in which sound recordings and music videos are used and based on whether the relevant copyright holders are indeed represented by MRSS.
